And from 2010 to 2011, this has become a full-fledged Post Graduate Diploma Course in Sports Management at the University of Calcutta.

It is a full-time course, and you will have to stay in Kolkata to finish it.

To be eligible for this college, the candidate must have passed the Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3 system) in any discipline from any University recognized by the University of Calcutta.

After that, the selection of the candidate will be based on a written exam and personal interviews.

Fees: 4 Lakhs (2-year course)

The National Academy of Sports Management (NASM), first opened its doors in the year 2000.

NASM is recognized by Mumbai University, and its campus is in Navi Mumbai.

The classrooms can fit up to 80 people, and the overall facilities of the institute are top-notch too.

The eligibility criteria are that candidates should have graduated in any stream from a recognized University.

It is one of the popular destinations for pursuing sports management, and with an expense of about 4 lakhs, you will be getting your money’s worth!

However, the following college on the list is even better when it comes to popularity!

International Institute of Sports Management (IISM), Mumbai:

Masters in sports management

Fees: 7.31 Lakhs (2-year course)

The International Institute of Sports Management (IISM) is a premier institution in India dedicated to sports education and management.

Founded in 2010, it offers specialized undergraduate and postgraduate programs focused on various aspects of sports management, marketing, media, and entrepreneurship!

Although it is a private institute, it is affiliated with Mumbai University, and the institute was conferred with the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar 2020 for sports development.

To get in, the students have to take the SMAT test conducted by the university, but the scores of MH-CET are also considered!

Nilesh Kulkarni, an ex-Indian cricketer, is the founder at IISM Mumbai. Because of this, IISM has strong industry connections and partnerships.

The institute collaborates with leading sports organizations, clubs, and professionals to provide students with valuable networking opportunities, internships, and placements.

It might fall on the costlier side of things, but for the strong industry connections, we highly recommend this college!

4] IIM Rohtak – Indian Institute of Management Rohtak

Executive Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Management

Fees: 7.86 lakhs (2-year course, part-time)

This is the only sports management course in India that comes with the IIM tag! And we all know how valuable that tag is.

This is a very new course launched by IIM, as it tries to dip its toes in the sports sector.

The program will consist of 6 terms spread over a period of 2 years.

And in those 2 years, there will be a total of 560 interactive sessions with a mix of Offline Sessions, Online Sessions, Project Work, and Industrial Visits.

The total course duration will be of 900 Hours!

Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent overall grade point average will be eligible to apply.

Once that is ticked off, there will be a written exam followed by personal interviews to finalize the candidates.

5] DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai

MBA Sports Business Management

Fees: 8.4 lakhs (2-year course)

 DY Patil University is a huge university under which there are countless courses available, including a 2-year course in Sports business management.

The program focuses on the business and management aspects of the sports industry, providing students with a solid foundation in core business disciplines such as marketing, finance, operations, and strategic management, all within the context of the sports domain.

The expenses of doing this degree are the highest on this list, but it might be justifiable for two reasons.

First, there is the great industry exposure in the arsenal of the college. With countless guest lectures, industry partnerships, internship opportunities, and placement scenarios, this is one of the very best.

Second, is the lavish campus life and fantastic facilities. We all know of the D.Y Patil Cricket Stadium. But apart from that, there is the sports science laboratories, and sports equipment, which provide students with practical exposure to sports management operations.

For eligibility, A candidate must have passed the Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% Marks from any recognized university.

After which, the candidate will have to take a common entrance exam conducted by the DYPUSM and commonly referred to as DYPCT, followed by Group group discussion and a Personal Interview.
